On The Boards | Desiring to evoke the idyllic charm and agricultural heritage of the surrounding rolling hills, this modern farmhouse rises modestly from the prairie. Materials include dry-stacked stone, board & batten siding, a wood trellis, and standing-seam metal roofs, all reminiscent of the area's past. Its rear courtyard is enclosed with natural stone walls that recall agricultural ruins and barn foundations.

In addition, the one-story home is built into a natural berm to create privacy from the public street. The understated entry and courtyard have views that open up to the rolling landscape beyond.
